Genesis Magma Racing has taken the covers off the livery that will adorn its GMR-001 LMDh for its FIA World Endurance Championship debut in 2026.

The Hyundai-owned luxury brand revealed the two-tone orange and red design on a full-scale model of its new ORECA-chassised contender on Wednesday, ahead of the New York International Auto Show.

Genesis says the colors have been chosen to symbolize “Korea’s vibrant energy”, with the livery also featuring elements inspired by the Hangeul characters that make up the word ‘Magma’ in Korean script, making it a “moving emblem of Korean identity.”

“The GMR-001 Hypercar, like every race car, is a sculpture designed by the constraints of efficiency and performance – combined with the design DNA of Genesis – the brand with the Two Lines,” commented Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis.

“The livery is an orchestration of the tension and balance of the distinctly Korean character of the brand with gradients from Magma orange to dark red emphasizing the high temperature of the powertrain.

“And the color gradients from light to dark of the Magma writing in Hangeul is an optical doppler effect that expresses the glorious sound of the V8 Twin Turbo engine in motion.”

Genesis first revealed its GMR-001 design last December at a launch event in Dubai, and subsequently confirmed an entry into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship starting with the 2027 season.

Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani are the only two drivers confirmed for the project so far, with a first on-track test slated for late August of this year.

A partner team for the Genesis WeatherTech Championship effort remains unconfirmed.

The Genesis-backed IDEC Sport LMP2 effort finished second overall in this month’s European Le Mans Series opener at Barcelona, and top of the all-Pro LMP2 entries, with Dani Juncadella, Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert.
