Nico Hulkenberg got his first impressions of the Porsche 919 Hybrid this week, as the German Formula One ace had a seat fitting in the LMP1 contender in preparation for on-track testing later this month.
The 27-year-old was confirmed last week as a driver for the team’s third entry for next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will also run in the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Spa-Francorchamps.
Hulkenberg was initially announced to do both races, although a to-be-confirmed Korean race has been since added to the F1 schedule that falls on the Spa weekend.
Porsche is understood to also be testing its GT factory drivers Fred Makowiecki, Michael Christensen and Nick Tandy for a second time in the 919 Hybrid as it works to finalize the remainder of the lineup for the French endurance classic.
