Mathieu Jaminet will replace Michael Christensen aboard Porsche Penske Motorsport’s No. 5 entry for this weekend’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Fuji.
According to a revised entry list published on Monday, Jaminet will partner Julien Andlauer in the No. 5 Porsche 963 for the penultimate round of the season, with Andlauer’s regular co-driver Christensen set to miss the Japanese event.
A Porsche Penske spokesperson revealed the change came due to Christensen’s testing commitments for AO Racing ahead of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale at Road Atlanta.
It will mark Jaminet’s fifth appearance of the WEC season as he has appeared as a third driver for Porsche in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as at Qatar, Imola, Le Mans and the Circuit of The Americas, with a best finish of sixth at Le Mans.
Porsche is running with two drivers in each car at Fuji for the final time this year, with Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor piloting the No. 6 car as usual.
Jaminet and Matt Campbell are scheduled to return as third drivers in Porsche’s No. 5 and No. 6 entries respectively for the Bahrain season finale in early November.
