Trouble hit the No. 7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid just past the halfway mark of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Kamui Kobayashi’s Toyota, which had led from the seventh hour, underwent a right-hand turbo change, dropping the car to fourth overall and in class after spending nearly 30 minutes in the garage.
It has handed the No. 8 Toyota of Brendon Hartley the race lead, with the No. 1 Rebellion R13 Gibson of Gustavo Menezes promoted to second overall, just two laps behind the new leader.
Kobayashi returned to action just past 3:10 a.m. and is now seven laps behind Hartley.
