Joel Sturm has won this year’s Porsche Cup, as the most successful amateur driver in Porsche machinery.
The 23-year-old German, who claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship LMGT3 title with Manthey Pure Rxcing, topped the season-long leaderboard with 11,707 points, beating co-driver Alex Malykhin by 1,260 points.
Sturm has received 150,000 euros in prize money as a result of his triumph.
Americans Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer, who won the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS Pro class title with Wright Motorsports, finished third in the standings.
The Porsche Cup has been presented annually since 1970, and for the first time, the ceremony was officiated by Ferdi Porsche’s grandson.
