Gustavo Menezes will part ways with Peugeot following the conclusion of this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship campaign.
The American driver confirmed via a statement on his Instagram page that the upcoming 8 Hours of Bahrain will be his final race outing for the French manufacturer.
“After a three year journey together, filled with ups and downs, Bahrain will officially be my final race with Peugeot in the FIA WEC,” Menezes wrote.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure building this project together and making memories that will last a lifetime.
“As one door closes, new doors open. It’s too soon to share with you all my plans for 2024, but it will be fast. Best of luck to the team.”
Menezes worked in Peugeot’s Hypercar program from the very start, forming part of the debut lineup for the No. 94 Peugeot 9X8 at last year’s 6 Hours of Monza.
Along with Nico Mueller and Loic Duval, Menezes notably led portions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year and was a podium contender before losing ground due to repairs after an accident in the 12th hour and later encountering engine problems.
Peugeot is yet to announce a replacement for Menezes, although reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne recently made his race debut behind the wheel of the 9X8 when he stood in for Mueller at the 6 Hours of Fuji.
