Peugeot has revealed a fresh livery for the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, as it heads into its fourth full season with the 9X8 Hypercar.

The French marque took the covers off the design, which features a striped white-and-black pattern with red highlights, in a special launch event in Paris on Thursday, replacing the previous white and lime green scheme that had been used since 2024.

Peugeot’s new design is intended to “evoke the speed and constant motion of the 9X8 race cars which are constantly on the move” as well as to symbolize the “continuous flow of millions of data points” according to a team press release.

It added that the three colors were chosen as they were the original colors offered upon the release of the famous Peugeot 205 GTi hot hatchback in 1984, following the brand’s launch of the E-208 GTi at last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“Unveiling a new livery is always a key moment for the brand and for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies,” said team principal Emmanuel Esnault, who replaces newly-promoted Stellantis Motorsport boss Olivier Jansonnie in the role this year.

“It symbolizes the start of a new season and a new dynamic driven by renewed ambitions, while remaining firmly rooted in Peugeot’s heritage and identity.

“This livery fully embodies the spirit of the project and the close link between competition and the brand. It is also a valuable opportunity to bring our partners together to share this important moment that launches the 2026 season.

“We are looking forward to seeing it come to life on track in Qatar, at the opening round of the championship.”

The 9X8 enters the 2026 season with no significant updates, with the French marque understood to have burnt through its allocation of five Evo jokers since the car’s mid-2022 debut, as well as its second homologation.

However, the WEC’s new sporting regulations contain a provision for additional jokers to be handed to Hypercar manufacturers that fall below a certain performance threshold, which could lead to another major revision of the car in 2027.
