René Rast has been confirmed as the third driver for G-Drive Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship campaign.
The Audi factory driver joins Nathanael Berthon and Roman Rusinov in the Jota Sport-run Oreca 05 Nissan LMP2.
Rast made his LMP1 debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year, but was left without a drive when Audi scaled back its Le Mans program and dropped the third car over the winter.
Newly Silver-rated Rusinov is set to defend his WEC LMP2 title this year, making the switch from the OAK Racing-run Ligier JS P2 he competed with over the past two seasons.
Rast will join fellow Audi factory driver Filipe Albuquerque in the WEC LMP2 ranks, with the Portuguese driver having signed with RGR Sport by Morand.
