Jalopnik has reported Monday that new Nissan’s new LMP1 challenger, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, has been spotted testing at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.

Pictures and a video taken of the test were included within Jalopnik’s report. The images come out after a series of renderings have emerged over the last few weeks, prior to the car’s official launch.

This marks the car’s first time being spotted, although it does not mark the car’s first test.

Darren Cox, NISMO global head of brand, marketing & sales, did not explicitly confirm the car’s scheduled launch date of February 1, during Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Ariz., but strongly hinted at it to Sportscar365.

“What’s the biggest TV audience in the world at any one time? It’s the Super Bowl. Not only that, but the buzz of the Super Bowl TV ads is worldwide,” Cox said.
