SMP Racing Confirms FIA WEC, ELMS Drivers

SMP Racing has confirmed the drivers for its FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series programs for 2015. (En Français)

2014 ELMS LMGTE champion Viktor Shaitar will race the team’s Ferrari F458 Italia in the FIA WEC, as announced yesterday during the entry list presentation in Paris.

Shaitar will be joined by fellow ELMS champion Andrea Bertolini and Russia’s Alexey Basov. Basov competed in the GTC class of the ELMS in 2014, finishing third in the championship.

David Markozov and Anton Ladygin, the 2014 ELMS GTC champions, have been confirmed to race one of the team’s new BR01 LMP2 cars in the ELMS. They will join already confirmed drivers Mikhail Aleshin and Maurizio Mediani.

As expected, Nicolas Minassian and Kirill Ladygin will also be part of SMP Racing’s 2015 lineup.

The driver pairings for the team’s ELMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans programs will be confirmed at a later date.
