Pierre Thiriet has joined Signatech Alpine for the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship season, as part of a revised lineup for the French squad.
Thiriet will team up with the returning Nico Lapierre and Andre Negrao in the No. 36 Alpine A470 Gibson, following a season with G-Drive Racing, which has elected not to return to WEC competition.
Negrao, who has been upgraded to Gold rating by the FIA, effectively takes the seat of Gustavo Menezes, who will be part of Rebellion Racing’s LMP1 effort.
The Silver-rated Thiriet left the TDS Racing-run G-Drive operation following the Six Hours of Fuji last year and was replaced by Leo Roussel in the team’s lineup for Shanghai and Bahrain.
Thiriet is now set for his first full WEC season, which kicks off at Spa-Francorchamps in May.
