Lamborghini has reaffirmed its commitment to the SC63 program, confirming a single-car GTP entry into the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup races next year.

The Italian manufacturer, which will not be on the grid in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2025 due to the WEC’s two-car Hypercar mandate, will field a single SC63 LMDh car in the five long-distance WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races.

According to a statement issued on Christmas Eve, the “full program” for the SC63 will be confirmed in “due course” although factory drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara will form the driver roster.

Exact driver pairings on a race-by-race basis have yet to be confirmed.

Tuesday’s confirmation comes after what’s understood to have been multiple considerations for the future of the SC63, including a complete program cancelation, which has turned out not to be the case.

A full season WeatherTech Championship program was understood to have also been evaluated, as well as a second car for selected races.

No word has been given on the operator of the solo SC63, with Iron Lynx believed to be out of the equation despite having had an initial two-year contract with Lamborghini.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s in-house development team had initially been considered to a possible option in running the car next year alongside a parallel development program aimed to improve the car’s performance and reliability.

Iron Lynx, however, operated the car in last month’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, with the Italian squad listed as the team entrant on the provisional Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list that was released earlier this month.
