Renger van der Zande will continue with Vector Sport for the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain after previously joining the British squad at Fuji.

The two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner has been confirmed as Nico Mueller’s replacement in the No. 10 Oreca 07 Gibson for the second consecutive race.

Mueller was today named as part of Peugeot’s Hypercar lineup for the WEC season finale next month, moving into the seat previously held by James Rossiter whose focus has shifted to his new role as Maserati’s Formula E team principal.

Van der Zande also subbed for Mueller when the Swiss ace had to pull out of the 6 Hours of Fuji due to a date clash with his DTM commitments.

The Dutchman will again team up with his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship co-driver Sebastien Bourdais and Vector Sport’s Silver-rated driver Ryan Cullen.

“We are extremely pleased to have Renger with us for our final race of the season as he made a very positive impact on the team in Fuji,” said Vector Sport team principal Gary Holland.

“He’s fast, smart and his approach and attitude fitted in so well with our own.

“His previous knowledge of Bahrain International Circuit will be invaluable to us on our debut there, and we can’t wait to get there and show what we can all do.”
