The Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II is set for its race debut in this weekend’s Hankook 24 Hours of Barcelona with customer squad Car Collection Motorsport.
The German manufacturer, which took the wraps off its second evolution of its championship-winning GT3 car in July, will supply Audi Sport factory drivers Patric Niederhauser and WTCR ace Nathanael Berthon, who will race alongside team regulars Christer Jons and Martin Lechman in the car.
The new-for-2022 model features updates in aerodynamics, traction control, engine characteristics, chassis and climate control.
It is part of a 33-car overall entry for the twice-around-the-clock enduro to be held at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The No. 500 entry will run in the P4 class, presumably for yet-to-be-homologated cars, while the German team will also field Audis in the GT3 and GT4 classes.
