After narrowly missing out on pole, Team Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon topped the time sheets in night practice in Dubai.
The No. 1 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of Jeroen Bleekemolen, Bernd Schneider, Khaled Al Qubaisi and Andreas Simonsen led the way with a 2:00.041 lap time.
It was 0.274 seconds quicker than the No. 7 Craft-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3, driven by AMR factory drivers Stefan Muecke, Darren Turner as well as Tomonobu Fujii, Darryl O’Young and Frank Yu.
American Dane Cameron made a last-lap improvement to put the No. 76 Schubert Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3 third overall and in the A6 class, thanks to a 2:00.800 lap time in the V8-powered beast.
The top-five was completed by the No. 5 Spirit of Race Ferrari, featuring Giannmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander, and the No. 17 Craft-AMR Aston that sees the driving strength of Super GT ace Richard Lyons.
Seventy five of the 79 remaining entries set times in the two-hour session, which required each driver to complete a minimum of three laps.
A 30-minute warmup session is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. local, with the 9th annual Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai getting the green at 2 p.m. (5 a.m. ET)
