Black Falcon took victory in the Hankook 24 Hours of COTA on Sunday while PROsport Performance claimed GT honors in the Championship of the Continents.
Yelmer Buurman, Mike Skeen, Scott Heckert and Bret Curtis combined to take the No. 3 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 to a one-lap win over the Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R which had led almost half of the second part of the race.
“This Black Falcon team did an awesome job and the Mercedes-AMG was fantastic all day long,” said Skeen. “We knew we were in a good position last night when we finished part one and we just had to execute today.
“We knew we had good pace compared with the Porsche, we knew they had penalties coming, so we just had to stick to the plan and go at it!”
PROsport was the highest-placed A6-Am entry, with Adam Christodoulou, Charles Putman, Charles Espenlaub and Joe Foster crossing the line third overall to win the overall teams’ and A6 championships.
Herberth drivers Ralf Bohn and Robert Renauer claimed the overall drivers’ GT crown, meanwhile.
SPS automotive performance finished fourth overall and runner-up in A6-Am, ahead of the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003C in its return to the series.
Classic BMW led the way in GT4 with its No. 272 BMW M4 GT4 driven by Mike Vess, Jason Hart, Andrew Davis, Curt Swearingin and Matt Travis.
It finished eighth overall, behind 991 class winner JDX Racing, while RENNtech Motorsports was second in GT4 with its Mercedes-AMG GT4.
