Century Motorsport will give the new-for-2023 BMW M4 GT4 its maiden outing in a 24-hour race in a customer racing capacity during the Hankook 24H Dubai.
The British squad will field one of the Munich marque’s brand new GT4 challengers during the opening round of the Hankook 24H Series, while a second example is yet to be delivered ahead of a planned program in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
It is set to be the first significant outing for the car in customer hands, following an extensive test and development program prior to deliveries in October.
The car made its race debut during an NLS round in April, later followed by an appearance in the Hankook 24H Portimao.
There, it raced in the GTX class with BMW Junior Team members Dan Harper, Max Hesse and Neil Verhagen teaming up with test and development engineer Joerg Weidinger.
“It’s great to be extending our relationship further with BMW Motorsport. Their support has been second to none and we have become the ‘go to’ team in the U.K. to race BMWs,” said Century Motorsport team principal Nathan Freke.
“It was an easy decision to continue with the new car given the success we had with the current generation.
“The new generation looks to be a real game changer and now we have seen it and worked on it in the flesh we are super excited to hit the track and get going with it.
“Its first outing will be in Dubai where we will be looking for a good result. We will collect our second in February where we will start our extensive UK test program.”
Century fielded a combined GT3 and GT4 effort in British GT, with Darren Leung and Alexander Sims notably giving the M4 GT3 its first victory on British soil by winning the final round of the season at Donington.
