Fach Auto Tech set the pace at the Dubai Autodrome in Wednesday’s test session, as on-track activities kicked off for the tenth edition of the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai.
A 1:59.170 lap time by Martin Ragginger in the No. 12 Porsche 997 GT3 R, set halfway through the four-hour session, was enough to beat KPM Racing’s Stefan Muecke.
Ragginger, who shares his Porsche with Otto Klohs, Jens Richter and Porsche Junior Sven Mueller, was just 0.118 seconds quicker than the German Aston Martin Racing driver in the No. 28 Vantage GT3.
Two-time Dubai winners Abu Dhabi Racing by Black Falcon were third quickest, thanks to Jeroen Bleekemolen’s lap of 1:59.513.
2014 race winners Stadler Motorsport were fourth fastest with their Porsche 997 GT R, finishing the session 0.575 seconds behind the No. 12 Fach Auto Tech Porsche.
Ram Racing’s Tom Onslow-Cole set the fifth fastest time late in the session. Onslow-Cole’s fastest time pushed the third Black Falcon Mercedes down to sixth place, while the Scuderia Praha Ferrari of Peter Kox was relegated to seventh place.
A total of 69 cars took part in today’s test session, which was interrupted twice by red flags in order to recover stranded cars.
Tomorrow’s first practice session will begin at 11:30 a.m. local time.
