Matteo Cressoni and Scuderia Praha’s hopes to win the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai have been dashed with just more than 14 hours remaining.
Cressoni’s No. 11 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 appears to have suffered significant damage at Turns 15 and 16 on the Dubai Autodrome, with a second car involved.
Thomas Martinsson, in the SP3 class No. 51 Primus Racing Ginetta G50 GT4, was also involved in the accident.
It brought the race under Code 60 conditions once more. The Code 60 allowed the No. 77 GDL team Asia Porsche 991 Cup car to be brought back to the pit lane on a flatbed.
Following Cressoni’s accident, two of the new Audi R8 LMS entries have resumed at the front of the field.
Christopher Mies has taken over the No. 28 Land-Motorsport Audi from Connor De Phillippi, who impressed in earlier stints, and Laurens Vanthoor, in the No. 19 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi.
