The 24H Series powered by Hankook has been consolidated into a single series for 2021, with the elimination of the European and Continents titles in favor of an all-encompassing championship.
The Dutch organization, which revealed its provisional 2021 calendar on Friday, has called the moved a “call-back to the championship’s roots” which is aimed to deliver more consistent grids.
The 24H Series is set to feature eight points-paying events of either 12 or 24-hour races across seven countries on three continents next year.
It includes a 24-hour debut race at Sebring International Raceway while a six-hour non-points round at Yas Marina Circuit has been added for the week after the season-opening Hankook 24H Dubai in January.
Combined with European classic circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, Circuit-de-Catalunya Barcelona and a return to Enna-Pergusa for the Coppa Florio 12H Sicily, the 2021 calendar could be Creventic’s “strongest yet” according to sporting coordinator Ole Dorlemann.
“Our competitors will be invited to compete across three different continents and at some of the most technically challenging yet historically rich circuits you’re likely to find anywhere in the world,” Dorlemann said.
“We’re very pleased to have series staples like the Dubai Autodrome, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello supporting us once again, and we’re looking forward to hopefully building similarly strong relationships with the Hockenheimring, the Autodromo di Pergusa and, of course, Sebring in the coming years.”
All eight points-paying races will count towards a teams’ and drivers’ titles, which will again be up for grabs in both the GT and TCE divisions as well as titles per class.
Drivers under the age of 25 will have the chance to contest the Juniors Cup in GT and TCE, while all female drivers are eligible to compete for the Ladies Cup in both divisions.
Entries for all events are now being accepted, with discounts offered for teams committing to the full season.
