Timo Glock is set to embark on his first full DTM season since his departure from BMW, joining Doerr Motorsport for the team’s second year in the series.
The five-time DTM race winner will pilot one of the German team’s two McLaren 720S GT3 Evos as the squad prepares for its sophomore campaign.
Glock will team up with team regular Ben Doerr, replacing Clemens Schmid.
The German contested nine DTM seasons as a BMW driver between 2013 and 2021, ending his full-time involvement in the series after ROWE Racing departed at the end of the first season under GT3 regulations.
He subsequently made a guest appearance with Ceccato Racing at Imola before parting ways with BMW at the end of 2022.
“We are very proud to welcome Timo Glock to our team,” said team owner Rainer Doerr.
“I think a driver with such expertise and career is not only a great enrichment for us as a team, but also for the DTM.”
The Frankfurt-based squad endured a challenging debut season in DTM, with Schmid picking up a best-placed finish of fourth at Zandvoort en route to 19th in the drivers’ standings while the team finished last in the teams’ championship.
