Jordan Pepper will join GRT Grasser Racing to make his DTM debut at this weekend’s round at the Sachsenring.

The South African will pilot the No. 63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for the pair of 60-minute sprint races at the German circuit.

Pepper, who took victory in the most recent Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup win at the Nürburgring with the Gottfried Grasser-led stable, is the third different driver this season to race the No. 63 car.

The team started the season with Christian Engelhart as part of the lineup, but the German was forced to step aside to undergo knee surgery and has been sidelined since as his recovery continues.

As a result, the team initially tapped Franck Perera, another member of its Fanatec GT Europe lineup, to replace Engelhart at the Norisring and Nürburgring events, finishing second in his first start.

The Austrian squad currently sits eighth in the teams’ standings, while Lamborghini leads the manufacturers’ standings with a three-point advantage over Mercedes-AMG.
