Lamborghini driver Edoardo Mortara has been stripped of his best time in Super Pole for this weekend’s FIA GT World Cup in Macau, and will start Saturday’s Qualification Race from tenth on the grid as a result.

Mortara had originally qualified third in his No. 63 Absolute Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 behind Ferrari pair Antonio Fuoco and Yifei Ye, and subsequently described his lap as the best he had ever done around the Guia Circuit.

However, later that evening, Mortara’s time of 2:15.924 was scratched as a result of his car exceeding the maximum permissible power.

As a result, Mortara has dropped to tenth and last in the Super Pole classification and will start from the same position for Saturday’s 10-lap race.

Alessio Picariello moves up to third in his No. 911 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, with Joel Eriksson’s Audi Sport Asia Team Phantom Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and Raffaele Marciello’s ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO completing the top five.

Mortara’s qualifying effort followed a Balance of Performance adjustment in favor of the Huracan, which had its minimum weight dropped by 10 kg to 1315 kg and its Power Gain value increased from 0.5 percent to 3.1 percent.

No other cars have had their BoP values changed since first practice.

Luca Engstler qualified the other Lamborghini ninth, and was promoted to eighth on the grid for Saturday’s race by Mortara’s penalty.
