Marschall Leads Gounon in Second Abu Dhabi Practice

Dennis Marschall led the way for Sainteloc Racing during the second of three Free Practice sessions for the Lenovo Gulf 12 Hours.

Marschall posted a best lap of 1:52.732 aboard the No. 25 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, which he shares with Zhou Bihuang and Gilles Magnus.

In the process, the German outpaced the Jules Gounon-driven No. 4 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo by 0.120 seconds.

Casper Stevenson made it two Audis in the top three by reeling off a 1:52.983 at the wheel of the No. 2 HAAS RT machine, while Kessel Racing completed the top five with its two Ferrari 296 GT3s in the hands of David Fumanelli and Fran Rueda, respectively.

Matt Bell’s No. 88 Dragon Racing Ferrari slotted into sixth ahead of the No. 69 Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 Evo piloted by Frederik Schandorff.

After leading Saturday morning’s opening practice session, the No. 77 Dragon Racing Ferrari ended second practice in eighth with Axcil Jefferies at the wheel.

Jim Pla and Giorgio Sernagiotto completed the overall top ten for Sainteloc and AF Corse, respectively.

The third and final Free Practice session for the Gulf 12H kicks off at 3:45 p.m. GST (6:45 a.m. EDT).
