Falken Motorsports has confirmed that it will run the new Porsche 911 GT3 R in most rounds of the VLN championship this season.
The team is set to once again run a Porsche alongside its existing BMW M6 GT3 entry in seven of the nine rounds held on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, as well as the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June.
This season will mark the third in which Falken has entered cars from two different German manufacturers.
Klaus Bachler and Martin Ragginger have been retained to lead the Porsche entry with support from factory drivers Joerg Bergmeister and Dirk Werner.
The BMW, meanwhile, will be driven by a rotation of Stef Dusseldorp, Jens Klingmann, Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori.
Falken became the first customer team to run the 2019-spec Porsche in September when it finished 10th overall in VLN7 with Ragginger, Nick Tandy and Laurens Vanthoor sharing turns behind the wheel.
It also claimed a landmark 1-2 result with the previous-gen Porsche and the BMW in the sixth round of last season.
“We started to gain our first experiences on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 in 1999,” said Falken Motorsports managing director and COO Markus Boegner.
“Today we regularly battle for victories with a two-car team. We have been working very successfully together with Porsche since 2011 and last season we were able to experience the climax of this collaboration so far.
“With two overall victories, including the first double victory in team history, and a total of seven podium finishes, 2018 was the most successful season in our almost twenty-year racing history.
“We are more than confident of being able to build on these successes with the new model.”
