Scherer Sport PHX has revealed its driver crew for its two-car Audi effort in this year’s Nürburgring 24, with Ford factory drivers Christopher Mies and Frederic Vervisch amongst a group of five former race winners at the Eifel endurance classic.
Mies and Vervisch will be piloting an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II alongside Christopher Haase, Ricardo Feller, Dennis Marschall, Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock.
The exact composition of the driver crews will be revealed a later date.
The N24 will mark a return to Audi machinery for both Mies and Vervisch, who left the Ingolstadt marque last year ahead of a move to join Ford’s roster of factory drivers for the Mustang GT3 program.
Both drivers are two-time winners of the event, while Stippler, Winkelhock and Haase all also have scored multiple 24-hour victories at the Nordschleife.
The Meuspath-based team, meanwhile, is the most successful Audi squad at the N24, with its most recent win in 2022 adding to previous triumphs in 2012, 2014 and 2019.
These victories were all secured under the Team Phoenix name, which became Scherer Sport PHX last year after it was integrated into the Scherer Group as part of a new partnership.
“The 24-hour race is the absolute highlight of the motorsport season for our team, all employees and fans,” said Scherer Group CEO Christian Scherer.
“We are therefore very happy that we have succeeded in signing such a strong line-up The drivers’ experience both on the Nordschleife and with the Audi R8 LMS is a perfect combination to be successful in this very special race.”
The 52nd running of the event will also be the team’s first under the leadership of Axel Randolph, who took over as team principal from longtime figurehead and team founder Ernst Moser at the beginning of this year.
“I’ve received a very warm welcome,” said Randolph.
“The entire well-coordinated team, above all team manager Ron Moser, has given me great support with the new challenges.”
