The new Audi R8 LMS will go into production later this month, with customer deliveries set to begin in October, the German manufacturer has confirmed.
Audi’s next-generation GT3 car, which claimed victory at the Nürburgring 24 and scored a double-podium finish in the 24 Hours of Spa, will be produced en mass, with quattro GmbH scheduling a production run of up to 45 cars in time for the 2016 season.
“Since 2009, Audi has been producing GT3 race cars for customers around the world. In the new R8 LMS, we’re again offering our customers an absolutely competitive concept,” said Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
Customers can now place orders for the car for a price of 359,000 Euros ($400,000) plus VAT, or the car with a stater parts package for 398,000 euros ($444,000).
Production will launch on Sept. 21, with deliveries beginning on Oct. 26 and will stretch through next March.
