A new LMP2 car is nearly ready to hit the track, as the finishing touches are being put on the Pilbeam MP100 ahead of its debut later this year.
South African-based Zoo Racing is preparing the first chassis, which will compete in the newly launched South African Endurance Series, beginning with December’s three-hour event at Killarney Raceway on Dec. 6.
Team boss Greg Mills said he could be joined behind the wheel by ex-F1 driver Eddie Keizan for the car’s debut race.
The team has stated its ambitions of competing in next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
