Two-wheeled turned four-wheel rising star Alex Morton has joined Team Stradale for the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America this year alongside the returning Louis Schriber III, who will be among the drivers debuting the Radical SR10 in series’ competition.
Morton, 19, will compete in the PRO 1500 class at the wheel of a Radical SR3 1500 for the Joilet, Ill.-based team, having come off a successful test at Autobahn Country Club.
The Michigan native boasts two years of open-wheel experience, most recently in the U.S. F4 series. Prior to that, Morton successfully competed on two wheels, including AMA amateur national motocross, cycling mountain biking, track and cyclocross.
“[The Radical SR3 1500] is a really fun, nimble car and was a quick adjustment from the formula cars that I’ve been in for the past couple years,” he said.
“I loved my time meeting the team and testing with them. They really made me feel at home and part of the family and that can be hard to find in racing.
“Really looking forward to my time with them.”
Schriber III Returns with New Radical SR10
After taking a year off from racing, Schriber will graduate to the Platinum class at the wheel of a Radical SR10.
The former PRO1340 class champion has been one of the early adopters of the new car offering.
“I worked through COVID, hung out with family and took a break. I’m coming back with a good, fun attitude,” Schriber said.
“I get to go through this learning curve with more experience understanding not just the driver, but also understanding the team mechanics, engineers, coaches.”
Team principal Francesco D’Avola added: “We’re very excited to have Alex join the family here at Team Stradale.
“Alex showed immediate pace, and we’re excited to see how he’ll perform at his debut Race at Barber Motorsports Park.
“Having Louis Schriber back is tremendous. His ability to dive into data and search for improvements is as relentless as his competitive spirit.”
The Blue Marble Radical Cup season gets underway this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park with a 30-car field.
