The 2019 Super GT schedule has been released, featuring a largely unchanged calendar of eight rounds.
Revealed by GTA on Thursday, the season will again kick off at Okayama in April, followed by stops at Fuji, Suzuka and a return to Buriram in Thailand for the championship’s only international round.
The biggest change comes with a swap of the dates at Sugo and Autopolis, which sees the Autopolis round moved to Sept. 7-8 after its previous late October date and Sugo moving back by one week to Sept. 21-22.
The move is believed to eliminate any possible clash with the FIA World Endurance Championship, or any world championship event, which typically holds races in Japan in October.
Adjustments, however, could still be made to the Super GT calendar, as a result of “subsequent changes in international world championship events.”
No joint races with DTM, which are planned to begin in 2019, were announced during the initial schedule release.
Super GT is the first major sports car racing championship to have confirmed its 2019 calendar.
