Ford Mustang Dark Horse Rs will be competing on two continents this weekend, highlighted by the series debut of Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia at Phillip Island.

The new-for-2026 series, which runs on SRO Australia’s Shannons SpeedSeries weekends, kicks off with a 15-car entry featuring Australian Supercars race winners, rising starts and experienced racers.

Jack Perkins and James Moffat, sons of Bathurst winners Larry Perkins and the late Allan Moffat, headline the field, driving for HMO Customer Racing and Garry Rogers Motorsport, respectively.

Supercars regulars James Golding and Aaron Cameron will also be at the wheel of GRM entries, with RM Race Cars will field a total of four cars, for Tyler Everingham, Josh Anderson, Josh Trappett and a fourth to-be-confirmed driver.

The team will also provide technical support to Mustang for Keith Kassulke, who will contest the Dark Horse Legends class.

Kassulke’s class rivals will come in the form of Ben Dunn and Warren Wadley.

Other young drivers taking up the challenge in the Dark Horse class include Australian Formula Ford Series contender Joe Fawcett, production car ace Brock Giblin, second-generation driver Matt Kiss and Imogen Radburn.

Meanwhile, the second round of the season of the USAC-sanctioned Mustang Cup USA heads to Barber Motorsports Park, where Logan Adams (Dark Horse) looks to continue his win streak in the Dark Horse class.

Adams swept the weekend earlier this month in the season-opening races at Sebring International Raceway, winning both the Parnelli and Miles Cups.

While Chris Clarke, who won both races in Dark Horse Legends at Sebring, is not entered for Barber, the class, f0r drivers 40 and older, features a number of strong competitors.

Mustang Cup Classic entrant Paolo Salvatore, meanwhile, put on impressive performances at Sebring in his Ford Mustang FP350S in the new class for selected historic Mustang road race cars, and is again entered this weekend.

A total of 13 cars are entered across both Cups this weekend.

Track action in Alabama kicks off on Thursday with three practice sessions, with qualifying on Friday, ahead of the Miles Cup race (12:20 p.m. CST) and Parnelli Cup race on Saturday (4:15 p.m. CST).

Meanwhile in Australia, the Johnson Cup race, named after Ford Supercars legend Dick Johnson, is slated for a 12 p.m. AET start on Saturday (Friday, 10 p.m. EST) and the Ambrose Cup race, named after Marcos Ambrose, set for 12:30 p.m. AET on Sunday (Saturday, 10:30 p.m. EST).

All four races will be streamed live on Ford Racing’s YouTube channel.
