This weekend’s fourth round of the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season at Sandown Raceway is set to be contested by 14 cars.

Although the size of the grid for the series’ first visit to Sandown since 2022 is the same as that of the previous round at Queensland Raceway in late May, there are several notable changes up and down the order.

Two cars that missed Queensland, the No. 88 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo of Steve Brooks and Ryan Wood and the Black Wolf Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Ben Schoots and Shane Woodman, return to the grid.

The return of Black Wolf brings the Am class back up to four cars, with the Pro-Am class staying steady at nine and the Trophy class for older cars down to a single car.

As announced on Saturday, an extra MPC Audi with backing from Hallmarc, the No. 9 car, is also being entered at Sandown for Marc Cini and Lee Holdsworth.

This offsets the loss of the Dayle/ITM-sponsored No. 7 Audi following the tragic passing of Tim Miles earlier this month, keeping the MPC contingent at five cars.

That includes the title-contending Kelso Electrical-backed machine of title challengers Brad Schumacher and Broc Feeney, Renee Gracie’s Am class entry and the sole Trophy Class car of Paul Stokell and Matthew Stoupas.

Jordan Love returns to the No. 77 Arise Racing GT Ferrari 296 GT3 after skipping Queensland, where he was replaced alongside Steve Wyatt by brother Aaron.

Volante Rosso Motorsport also has a new lineup for its Aston Martin Vantage GT3 as Jamie Day replaces Declan Fraser for the rest of the season, as previously announced.

Paid practice and pre-qualifying are due to take place on Friday ahead of qualifying proper and the opening hour-long race on Saturday, and the second race on Sunday.
