The inaugural Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS calendar has been finalized with a pair of season-ending endurance events at The Bend and Bathurst.

A six-event schedule was initially announced in December with two ‘TBA’ dates, including the earmarked final round as part of the Bathurst International weekend at Mount Panorama.

Those blanks have now been filled in, with series organizers publishing dates and locations for all six events.

The calendar has been split into a four-event sprint component, with two endurance events to round out the year.

An additional round at The Bend Motorsport Park is the only major change, with the South Australian venue picking up a single three-hour enduro from Oct. 15-17.

Locked in as the final round of the Motorsport Australia Endurance Championship, an enduro at Mount Panorama will run to the same format from Nov. 26-28.

“The finalized calendar for the inaugural Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS has been well received by competitors and circuits so we are looking forward to kicking off the season at Phillip Island next weekend,” said Category Manager, Ken Collier.

“The mix of sprints and longer endurance racing was very important for the competitor base.

“This is what they wanted to see included in the championship, so it’s great that we’ve been able to deliver.

“The mix of circuits has also received a great response. Two trips to Bathurst, two trips to The Bend plus Phillip Island and Sandown are ideal venues for the GT cars. It’s a terrific result.

“We are looking forward to publishing our entry list early next week and, personally, I’m excited to see what ARG’s new venture with SRO Motorsports has in store for 2021 and beyond.”

GTWC Australia will also form part of the global GTWC manufacturers’ contest which has grown by two brands ahead of its third season.

The opening round of GTWC Australia will be held at Phillip Island next weekend and is expected to feature a 20-strong entry list.
