AF Corse has added an all-factory driver crew to its Total 24 Hours of Spa entry, including two of the drivers that took it to GTE-Pro victory in last month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Le Mans winners James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi will be joined by another regular in the team’s FIA World Endurance Championship lineup, Sam Bird.
It marks a one-off entry for the Italian team at Spa, adding to its existing Pro-Am entries and Pro class SMP Racing car.
The trio is likely to be nominated as one of Ferrari’s points-scoring Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli entries for the July 27-28 race.
The Italian manufacturer’s other likely IGTC contenders will be the AF-run SMP car of Endurance Cup points leaders Davide Rigon, Mikhail Aleshin and Miguel Molina, as well as the HubAuto Corsa car which has a new lineup.
Nick Foster, Nick Cassidy and Daniel Serra will drive for HubAuto as part of the team’s year-round IGTC entry.
Serra was the third driver in Calado and Pier Guidi’s Le Mans-winning lineup less than three weeks ago.
Foster drove with Nick Percat and Tim Slade in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour while Percat was replaced by Molina for the California 8 Hours.
Foster, Molina and Slade then went on to win at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, helping Ferrari secure third place in the IGTC manufacturers’ standings.
The full entry list for the 24 Hours of Spa, including IGTC nominations, will be revealed around midday local time today.
