Ezequiel Perez Companc is recovering from a broken vertebra sustained in a crash during Saturday’s Paul Ricard 1000km.
The Argentinian driver is currently in hospital in Barcelona to begin his recovery process after initially being taken to another hospital near Circuit Paul Ricard in southern France.
He will return home to Argentina later this week to further continue his rehabilitation process.
Perez Companc, who drives for Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, sustained the injury in a crash on the second lap of Saturday’s six-hour Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup race.
He collided with Florian Scholze’s HB Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 at Signes, the fastest corner on the track. Scholze escaped uninjured.
