Rothberg Romps to Barber Pole

Turner Motorsport driver scores another pole in GT America powered by AWS competition…

Justin Rothberg will start this afternoon’s GT America powered by AWS race from the pole after taking the top qualifying position in qualifying Saturday morning at Barber Motorsports Park.

The Turner Motorsport driver recorded a best lap of 1:22.835 in his No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 to outpace the No. 64 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Bryson Morris by 0.254 seconds.

Johnny O’Connell qualified third with a 1:23.348 lap time from his No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

The No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Kyle Washington was fourth, with Ross Chouest completing the top-five in his No. 50 Chouest-Povoledo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

In GT4, Isaac Sherman grabbed another pole in his No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, ahead of Curt Swearingin’s No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche.

Gray Newell completed the top-three in class in his No. 25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

Race 1 gets underway at 1 p.m. CDT with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
