Capestro-Dubets, Root Score Sebring Poles

Grids set for pair of Pirelli GT4 America races at Sebring International Raceway…

John Capestro-Dubets and Max Root have secured overall poles for this weekend’s pair of Pirelli GT4 America races at Sebring International Raceway.

Capestro-Dubets took his No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport to a best lap of 2:10.547 in Q1 to edge out Jonathan Neudorf’s No. 23 TechSport Nissan Z NISMO GT4 by 0.048 seconds.

Daniel Hanley qualified third overall and in the Silver class in his No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, followed by the Pro-Am class pole-sitting No. 43 P1 Groupe Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Matt Bell in fourth.

John Geesbreght completed the top-five in his No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota, followed by Tony Gaples in sixth in the No. 9 Blackdog Racing Nissan.

BimmerWorld’s Charlie Postins grabbed Am class pole honors in Race 1, while Austin Krainz took class pole for Race 2 in his RS1 Porsche.

Root, meanwhile, romped to a 2:09.619 lap time in his No. 9 Blackdog Nissan to score Pro-Am and overall pole honors in Q2, edging out the Silver class pole-sitting No. 999 Hanley Toyota of Parker Thompson by 0.266 seconds.

Michai Stephens is set to start third overall and second in the Silver class, followed by Eric Filgueiras and Roman De Angelis for RS1 and Heart of Racing Team, respectively.

The first GT4 America race of the weekend takes the green flag this evening at 5 p.m. EDT, with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
