Carrus Callas Raceteam Switches to BMW With Shanny, Borcheller

Carrus Callas Raceteam will make the switch from Toyota to BMW GT4 machinery in Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS competition this year, while retaining the lineup of Nick Shanny and Terry Borcheller.

The team, which gave the Toyota GR Supra GT4 its maiden win in North America in 2023, has acquired BMW M4 GT4s for the upcoming seasons in SRO America competition.

Shanny and Borcheller are expected to remain in the Am class of GT4 America, with Bronze-rated Shanny again undertaking a season in the single-driver GT America series.

“Carrus Callas Raceteam has had a very successful partnership with Toyota TRD USA,” said team owner Tony Callas.

“We experienced amazing accomplishments with the all-new GR Supra, claiming third in the SRO Am championship in just our second competition year… As most have experienced, results don’t just happen without great partnerships.”

Callas added: “CCRT has collectively decided to go with the BMW M4 in SRO and look forward to a great partnership with BMW as they have a clear path forward with their GT4 platform.

“Considering that BMW revealed their new M4 GT4 G82 car just this last year, not to mention the fact they have an updated GT4 Evo coming soon.

“We have great hopes and believe BMW is the best manufacturer for us moving forward into the 2024 season.

“Our initial meetings with them have been excellent, and we are very excited to create a new partnership with BMW in the new year.”

The team will also be active in TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing Schools this year, with a BMW M2 CS Cup entry for Chris Walsh in the TCX class.
