Hartog, Cooper Take GT4 Poles at Barber

Loek Hartog claimed his first career Pirelli GT4 America pole position, while Michael Cooper will start Race 2 from the front following a pair of qualifying sessions at Barber Motorsports Park.

Hartog, in the No. 9 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport reeled off a chart-topping 1:28.367 to edge out the No. 43 P1 Groupe McLaren Artura GT4 of Matt Bell by 0.123 seconds in Q1.

Mike David Ortmann, meanwhile, claimed Silver class pole honors in his No. 4 JMF Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo, leading a 1-2 for the Canadian squad in class, ahead of teammate Jesse Webb in the No. 3 entry.

Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver Riley Dickinson will start Race 1 from fifth overall, with Marc Miller sixth in the No. 37 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Thunder Bunny Racing claimed Am class pole honors, with the No. 606 BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Laura Hayes laying down a 1:29.775 lap time that was good enough for the 12th quickest time overall.

Q2 saw Cooper set a benchmark 1:28.312 in the No. 33 Blackdog Racing McLaren to edge out the No. 23 Nolasport Porsche of Matheus Leist by 0.242 seconds.

Tyler Gonzalez claimed Silver class pole honors in his No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, while Darius Trinka took Random Vandals to top qualifying honors in Am for Sunday’s Race 2.

The first GT4 America race of the weekend gets underway at 4:50 p.m. CST with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
