TechSport Racing will return to Pirelli GT4 America competition after a year away, announcing that it will campaign at least one Ford Mustang GT4 with Frankie Muniz and Tyler Stone confirmed as the first drivers.
The North Carolina-based team, which previously partnered with Nissan on the North American development of the now-defunct Z GT4 program, is set to represent the ‘Blue Oval’ for the first time in SRO America’s GT4 division.
Hollywood child star turned driver Muniz, who drove for the Kevin Anderson-owned operation at this year’s Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational, will run for a championship the team’s Mustang GT4 alongside his continued commitments in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
“We are very excited here at TechSport to be part of the Ford Racing family,” said Anderson. “I don’t think any manufacturer is investing more in sports car racing than Ford Racing.
“The ladder that they have created for drivers is impressive, and I expect the help they provide young drivers will be equally impressive.”
The latest-generation Mustang GT4, which made its customer debut in 2024 in series around the world, will be rolled out to SRO America competition for the first time next year, joining the Mustang GT3, which debuted with Dollahite Racing in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS this year.
“Following the debut of the Ford Mustang GT3 in 2025, we’re excited to see Ford Racing expand its presence in SRO America with the arrival of the new Mustang GT4,” said SRO America President and CEO Greg Gill.
“The expansion of the Mustang’s presence and its inclusion across multiple championships allows us to welcome even more Mustang fans to the track.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the depth and strength of Ford’s program and the heightened level of competition across our series.”
While set to make further driver announcements for its first Mustang GT4, TechSport is “actively seeking” funded drivers to join its proposed second entry.
Sportscar365 understands that additional Mustang GT4s are likely to also be on the GT4 America grid next year, including a potential effort from McCumbee McAleer Racing and Ford Racing Junior Team driver Jenson Altzman.
