Ryan Eversley will shift into Pirelli World Challenge full-time in 2015, as one of the two full-time drivers in the new Acura TLX-GT.

Eversley will be one of two drivers for the team in 2015, in the No. 43 entry. RealTime Racing team principal Peter Cunningham, a seven-time series champion, will be in the sister No. 42.

Acura Motorsports and RealTime debuted the car for selected races in 2014.

“To say I’m excited to be joining Acura Motorsports RealTime Racing and the TLX program is a massive understatement!” Eversley said.

“We have a huge undertaking ahead of us, but after testing a few weeks ago, I can’t think of a better team to handle the challenge.

“I’m extremely grateful to HPD for all they’ve done for me, and look forward to more success with them.”

At the moment, the all-wheel drive TLX-GT is the only projected full-time PWC GT car that isn’t a full FIA GT3-spec car.

Still, for Eversley, this maintains his relationship with Honda Performance Development (HPD) after several seasons in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

He won the last two CTSC races of 2014 co-driving an ST class Honda Civic Si and also made one PWC weekend start at Barber Motorsports Park in April, driving a Subaru WRX-STi in GTS.

“It’s every driver’s dream to be associated with a manufacturer, and since I’ve worked alongside Honda Performance Development for the last five years, I feel like it’s a natural progression in our relationship,” Eversley said.

Meanwhile Cunningham raced at the Mid-Ohio and Sonoma rounds of the 2014 season and looks forward to a full-season return next season, back in a two-car effort.

“For our four-door sedan to be racing head-to-head with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini, among others, is pretty cool,” Cunningham said. “After our two initial outings in 2014, we’ve already learned a great deal and we will continue to improve the car during the offseason.”

The PWC season opens at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas March 6-8, the same track where Eversley won in September in CTSC ST with the Civic.
