Barwell Motorsport’s Am Cup entry went quickest in Pre-Qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps on Thursday evening, with Patrick Kujala showing surprise pace.

The Finn logged a best time of 2:20.123 midway through the one-hour session, the final track action before qualifying, to put his No. 77 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo on top.

Kujala shares the Barwell car with Adrian Amstutz, Leo Matchiski and Richard Abra, and joins the regular trio as the one permitted Silver-rated driver for Spa.

Lucas Auer put the factory GruppeM Mercedes-AMG GT3 in second with a time 0.199 seconds down on Amstutz, while the lead Black Falcon Mercedes placed third.

Barwell’s other car topped the Silver Cup from 11th overall, while the No. 52 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 was the pace-setter in the Pro-Am Cup.

The session ran without any major incidents or interruptions, although some light rain did arrive late on.

Qualifying will get underway at 8 p.m. local time (2 p.m. EDT), split into four 15-minute sessions, while Night Practice follows at 9:40 p.m. (3:40 p.m. EDT).
