Hockenheim will replace the Nürburgring on the Endurance Cup schedule in the only venue change for the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.
SRO Motorsports Group on Saturday revealed a largely unchanged ten-round calendar for its European GT3 series, split evenly between five Endurance and Sprint Cup rounds.
Hockenheim is set to host an Endurance Cup fixture for the first time next season, moving into the Endurance Cup’s fourth-round slot currently held by the Nürburgring.
SRO visited Hockenheim earlier this year for a Fanatec GT2 European Series round.
The German circuit joins continuing venues Monza, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the calendar.
The Nürburgring has hosted Endurance Cup seven times including this weekend, while it has also appeared on the Sprint schedule in previous years.
However, next season the track will not form part of either GTWC Europe series for the first time since the first Endurance season in 2011.
The headline TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa has retained its traditional late-July date slot.
Monza’s Endurance Cup race has been confirmed as a three-hour affair, while Paul Ricard maintains its usual 1000km length. The long-distance events at Hockenheim and Barcelona are expected to be three hours each, although SRO has not declared this.
Sprint Cup features the same five tracks that make up the 2021 calendar, with Brands Hatch serving as the site of the opening round at the April-May overlap weekend.
Magny-Cours will stage round two after a two-week gap, followed by Zandvoort in June and Misano in July.
Circuit Ricardo Tormo near Valencia rounds out the campaign after being added to the Sprint Cup bill for this year.
