Refueling times will be introduced into the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in 2020, replacing timed pit stops and altering the pit stop regulations.

Instead of a minimum pit stop time, the stewards will issue a refueling time for every pit stop, during which the refueling nozzle must remain connected to the car.

Tire changes will take place only after refueling has finished but will not be timed.

The aim of the new regulation is to reduce the time that cars will be stationary in the pit lane and increase strategy, allowing teams to gain an advantage with quick tire changes.

A lower time limit is also set to be implemented for shorter stops with only one tire changed.

Teams will have to purchase a sensor to monitor refueling time, which will be connected to the car’s data logger.
