Earl Bamber Motorsport has recreated the livery from its 2019 Bathurst 12 Hour-winning Porsche that will adorn its Pro class entry in this weekend’s Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener.

Revealed on Monday, the No. 61 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be in a black base livery and feature the New Zealand silver fern, in a similar design that took Matt Campbell, Dirk Werner and Dennis Olsen to victory seven years ago.

This time around, newly minted Rolex 24 at Daytona overall winner Laurin Heinrich will be joined by Porsche-contracted drivers Ricardo Feller and Klaus Bachler in the car.

Ironically, team owner Earl Bamber will be racing against his own entry in the race, with the Cadillac factory driver having been called up to be in JMR Johor Racing’s Pro class Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R entry alongside Nicky Catsburg and Alexander Sims.

EBM’s special livery joins the previously revealed design from fellow Porsche squad Absolute Racing, which will sport a kangaroo road sign-based theme on its Porsche for Campbell, Bastian Buus and Alessio Picariello.

Activity at Mount Panorama kicks off on Thursday morning with the annual ‘Track to Town’ parade, before on-track action begins on Friday.
