Reigning Bathurst 1000 winners Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth have been named in Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia’s lineup for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, as the Melbourne-based team announced three of its six driving crews.
Mostert and Holdsworth, who won Supercars’ biggest race at Mount Panorama together last year driving for Walkinshaw Andretti United, have been assigned to different Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs for the GT racing enduro at the same circuit on May 15.
2018 Bathurst 12 Hour pole-sitter Mostert is due to drive the No. 65 CoinSpot-backed Audi alongside Liam Talbot and Fraser Ross who are both previous class winners at the event.
The No. 9 Hallmark Property Group Audi will be driven by Holdsworth, Marc Cini and Dean Fiore.
Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia’s third announced entry is the No. 47 Supabarn Supermarkets Audi that will be shared by Theo Koundouris, Paul Stokell and 2021 Bathurst 1000 podium finisher David Russell.
They will compete in the Am category, while the lineups involving Mostert and Holdsworth will bid for overall honors in the Pro-Am class.
The Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia stable is being run by the Melbourne Performance Centre team, which is due to announce its remaining crews this week.
“The first half of our 2022 Bathurst 12 Hour squad is fantastic,” commented team principal Troy Russell.
“The shift to the Pro-Am regulations this year gives opportunities to people who might not have the chance in ‘usual’ years and they have all grabbed it.
“Each car has a really strong group of drivers, both from the ‘Am’ component and to the professional drivers who have joined in.
“These are three strong, very balanced cars all of whom can compete for a strong result.”
