GT4 Silver Champs Step Up With RS1 Porsche 911 GT3 R

Reigning Pirelli GT4 America Silver Cup champions Stevan McAleer and Eric Filgueiras will step up to GT3 competition this year, having been confirmed in a RS1-entered Porsche 911 GT3 R in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.

The duo, who scored ten class victories in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport last year, will share driving duties of a new Type-992 Porsche that will compete for overall honors in the Pro class.

It comes after McAleer was moved to Gold rating by the FIA, while Filgueiras remains a Silver for the 2023 season.

GTWC America rules require at least one Silver-rated driver in a Pro class lineup.

The move will mark RS1’s debut with a GT3 car after being a longtime GT4 class entrant in both SRO America and IMSA competition.
