With his championship rivals not gaining any significant ground last time out at Road America, Westin Workman will be looking to solidify his lead in the Toyota GR Cup North America points standings heading into the final four races of the season.

This weekend’s Rounds 11 and 12 at Barber Motorsport Park will be pivotal in the BSI Racing driver’s championship quest.

Workman, who has three wins on the season, heads into the weekend with a 41-point lead over Copeland Motorsports’ Jaxon Bell, who clawed back five points with a runner-up finish and sixth place result at Road America.

Lucas Weisenberg has seen his title hopes fade after only scoring four points in Wisconsin, but has maintained his third place position, ahead of Spike Kohlbecker, who broke through for his first win of the season in Race 1 at Road America.

A total of 27 Toyota GR86 Cup cars are due to take part this weekend, including a driver change in the No. 58 Copeland Toyota, which sees Liam Harrison in for Jack Murchison.

Barber will also mark the third event outing of the year for Rutledge Wood, driving for Precision Racing LA.

With the event not counting towards Legends Cup points, several drivers, including Eagles Canyon Raceway powered by Fast Track’s Tom Rudnai, Jeff Curry and Andrew Gilleland, as well as Farran Davis of RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate, are not entered.

GR Cup competitors will have a 30-minute test session on Thursday afternoon, followed by an additional test and two official practice sessions on Friday, with qualifying and the pair of 45-minute races on tap for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Live coverage will be available on SRO’s GT World YouTube Channel, as well as on grcup.com.
