Accomplished European GT squad Akkodis ASP will operate SunEnergy1 Racing’s effort in next month’s Indianapolis 8 Hour.
The TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa-winning outfit, led by Jerome Policand, has been confirmed to run the Kenny Habul-owned entry in the Pro-Am class of the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli round.
Habul will be joined by Martin Konrad and Dominik Bauman at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, which will run under the SunEnergy1 Racing by Akkodis ASP banner.
It will mark the second consecutive Indy 8H outing for Akkodis ASP, which was previously known as AKKA-ASP until this year. Habul, meanwhile, previously used Gradient Racing for his two prior starts at The Brickyard.
The U.S.-based Australian and Konrad both currently lead the IGTC Pro-Am points standings following an overall victory at the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour and third place points in the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
The Indy 8H effort will use the same chassis that Habul and Konrad ran in Belgium.
As previously reported by Sportscar365, Habul had confirmed full-season plans to contest the globe-trotting GT3 series, as he seeks his third IGTC class championship.
It has not yet been communicated which team Habul will join forces with for the season-ending Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit in December.
