The only timed practice session for the Pirelli World Challenge GT classes at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course has been cancelled, with lightning reported nearby, as per the series’ Twitter account.
This sends the GT/GTA/GT Cup competitors into Saturday’s qualifying session with no timed practice on the Ohio circuit.
Teams only got 80 minutes of track time after Thursday’s two untimed testing sessions.
Pirelli World Challenge later tweeted that the GTS race originally scheduled for 5 p.m. ET has been postponed, and that an extra race will be held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to make up for it.
